Histomorphometric Evaluations

The Dental Clinic at the University Medical Center Freiburg is one of the few institutions offering histomorphometric analyses. It has decades of experience in specialized histological preparations.

Samples are embedded in PMMA, with 2–3 saw cuts per sample followed by grinding. A specialized histological analysis of bone biopsies is performed. Quantitative area measurements provide a realistic assessment of tissue integration and bone regeneration. These analyses are ideal for evaluating bone augmentation measures and implant integration.
